概要長崎市の平和公園内にて行われた、バングラデシュ寄贈の平和モニュメント除幕式に出席しました。

ExplanationI attended the unveiling ceremony of the Peace Monument donated by Bangladesh, which was held at Peace Park in Nagasaki City.

長崎市の平和公園にバングラデシュから贈られた平和を象徴するモニュメントが新たに設置され、2024年5月28日除幕式が行われました。新たに設置されたモニュメントは「おお、私の鳥よ」というタイトルで、バングラデシュの建築家のデザインをもとに作られました。

A new monument symbolizing peace, a gift from Bangladesh, was installed at Nagasaki City's Peace Park, and an unveiling ceremony was held on May 28, 2024.The new monument is titled "O My Bird" and was designed by a Bangladeshi architect.

バングラデシュ国民は平和と核兵器廃絶を願い、
「広島と長崎（に投下された原爆）で亡くなった人に心を寄せている」
と語りました。

The people of Bangladesh wish for peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons, and said,
"Our hearts go out to those who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (the atomic bombs dropped on them)."

バングラデシュとT-LINKはこれらも世界平和を願い互いに協力して行く事を誓いました。

バングラデシュのモニュメント「おお、私の鳥よ」は、高さ約3メートル、幅2.5メートル。
黒の御影石と白の大理石で製作されています。

The Bangladeshi monument ``O My Bird'' is approximately 3 meters high and 2.5 meters wide.

概要在日バングラデシュ大使様の長崎市訪問及び現地視察に同席しました。

ExplanationI attended the visit of the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan to Nagasaki City and the on-site inspection.

バングラデシュ人民共和国は、核兵器禁止条約への署名・批准のほか国連平和維持活動への参加も積極的に行っています。
2013年にバングラデシュ側からのお申し出により長崎市との協議が始まり、2024年5月平和公園内に平和モニュメントが寄贈されました。

The People's Republic of Bangladesh, is a signatory and ratified of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and actively participates in UN peacekeeping operations.
In 2013, discussions with Nagasaki City began at the request of the Bangladesh side, and in May 2024, a peace monument was donated in the Peace Park.

シャハブッディン・アーメド 駐日バングラデシュ大使は
「今回のモニュメント設置で、私たちは平和を愛しているというメッセージを世界中の国に送りたい」
と仰っておられました。

Mr. Shahabuddin Ahmed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan, said,
"With the installation of this monument, we want to send a message to countries around the world that we love peace."
